This beautifully bright and open salon space was created for a client who wanted to evolve her brand from focusing strictly on Canadian-made, quality products for natural hair textures; to a flagship salon environment where she could offer consultations, styling, and therapeutic scalp & hair treatments to her customers. The design features the use of natural light, plants, wood textures and accents in the client’s brand colours. The large, show-stopping retail display featuring a backlit slat wall allows the client to prominently feature her thriving product line, and anchors the reception and waiting areas.  The client treatment room, enclosed by a floor to ceiling glass partition provides the perfect amount of privacy while letting in the natural light. The open salon service floor features both double and single sided styling stations as well as 2 lay-flat wash stations; allowing space for multiple clients to be seen simultaneously. The rear of the space features a stylish kitchenette & beverage station along with a small coffee lounge for clients and employees alike to enjoy. The end result is a new boutique salon space that is welcoming for both staff and customers, and creates a sense of calm, while reinforcing the brand identity and value placed on naturally derived elements.

This project won Gold in the 2023 DDA Canada Decor & Design Competition in the Commercial Category.
